FY25–FY29 Strategic Priorities

Thriving: Every Child. Every Family. Every Person.

Message from
the CEO

Generational poverty in Chicago’s marginalized communities is complex, rooted in inequities across education, employment, health, housing, and access to resources.

At Marillac Saint Vincent, we take a comprehensive approach, walking alongside families and connecting them to programs and services that address these root causes at every stage of life.

Our vision is to disrupt the generational cycle of poverty for the families we serve.

Foster a Thriving
Team Culture

We will attract, equip, and retain a diverse team of top performers committed to our mission. Our goal is to become the best place to work in Chicago’s nonprofit sector, creating a place of belonging where all staff can learn, grow, serve, and flourish.

What success looks like: high staff satisfaction, low turnover, strong professional development opportunities, and a workplace culture deeply aligned with our mission.

Increase Impact in the Communities We Serve

We will improve, innovate, and scale best-in-class programs rooted in evidence-based practices and responsive to community needs. Our focus is on holistic, family-centered services that address social determinants of health and disrupt generational poverty.

What success looks like: measurable outcomes, expanded access to programs, stronger partnerships, and advocacy that drives systemic change.

Significantly Increase and Diversify Funding

We will build a more sustainable funding model by expanding individual giving, corporate support, foundations, and government partnerships. By strengthening our donor pipeline and diversifying revenue streams, we will ensure long-term sustainability and maximize community impact.

What success looks like: growth in private philanthropy, balanced revenue sources, healthy donor engagement, and a strong financial foundation.

Improve Brand
Recongnition & Trust

We will strengthen our brand identity, messaging, and community engagement so that our work is clearly understood and trusted by participants, donors, and partners. Our focus is not just awareness, but building favorability “I like what you do” and trust “I am willing to give and engage.”

What success looks like: stronger reputation, increased donor engagement, and greater reach in the communities we serve.

The Next Chapter

In East Garfield Park, a new chapter is unfolding. Marillac Saint Vincent is transforming the historic Calhoun School into a Community Hub where education, health, and opportunity come together under one roof.

The Hub will unite programs that support families from early learning through adulthood, serving as a neighborhood anchor for growth, connection, and empowerment. It’s not just a renovation; it’s a reimagining of what’s possible for our community.
