What Do Young People Need to Thrive? Let’s Ask Them.
Strong communities don’t just invest in young people, they listen to them, learn from them, and build the future alongside them.
Marillac Saint Vincent invites you to Our Power, Our Voice (OPOV), an inspiring intergenerational luncheon bringing young people, community members, and leaders together to explore what it means to grow up today and what youth need to thrive.
Under this event’s theme, Youth Voice, we center a fundamental idea: young people deserve a voice in the decisions that shape their lives and futures. Supporting our youth requires more than offering programs; it requires listening to their lived experiences, valuing their perspectives, and treating them as full partners in building stronger families and communities.

Honest Conversations About the Issues Shaping Chicago
Our Power, Our Voice is Marillac Saint Vincent’s
recurring community conversation series, rooted in three commitments: Agency. Advocacy. Action. Each gathering focuses on a real issue affecting Chicago families, neighborhoods, and communities.
Held throughout the year,
OPOV brings together community members, advocates, leaders, and people with lived experience for honest conversations. These conversations elevate community voices, build connection across differences, and move ideas toward action. Each conversation stands on its own, and together they build a stronger shared understanding of what our communities need and are ready to create.
